Barron Park Donkeys

Palo Alto’s equine
celebrities

Our donkeys are a Barron Park treasure! Your support ensures these gentle, furry friends continue to bring smiles and joy to our neighborhood. Every donation directly funds their care, keeping their hooves healthy, their bellies full, and their spirits bright for years to come.

See the donkeys at their pasture, meet them on our Sunday walks (10-11am in Bol Park, rain or shine), or help feed them on Sundays at 5pm at the pasture gate  (4pm in the Fall/Winter when it is Standard Time)

Perry
1994 - 2025

It is with great sadness that we share the death of the incomparable Perry. We are heartbroken with his passing, but recently he had been in increasing pain, suffering from a condition known as laminitis which is not curable. This was the right time (for him) to say goodbye although still too soon for us. In Perry’s last weeks, handlers spent many hours at the pasture with him, petting him, cradling him, singing to him, and telling him that he was and always will be loved. We are all blessed for having known him and we will never, ever forget him.   We will announce plans for a memorial service for Perry soon.
